How we got here

Seven years, one very good question

We met in New York in 2019, and have been mindfully building a life here ever since. In the summer of 2023, on a small street in Montmartre, we made it official.

Our engagement felt like two things at once: the culmination of years of love, and also just the beginning. We have only grown more certain since. It would mean a great deal to us to have you there as this next chapter begins, surrounded by the people we love most.

We say our vows on the Williamsburg waterfront, with the skyline behind us. Dinner and dancing follow, through 9:30 PM.

A slow, unhurried morning to close the weekend out. Coffee and pastries are on us. Come as you are, stay as long as you like, and say your goodbyes over something warm before you make your way home.

Black tie optional

Consider this your excuse. Tuxedos, floor-length gowns, sharp tailoring, the colour you have been saving for the right night. Bring your best and have some fun with it, because we want to see what you do. Our only ask is that whatever you choose, you can dance in it.

A fuller schedule will follow closer to the date. The ceremony time is settled, so you may plan your day around it.

Loft-style suites in Greenpoint, run by the same team as the venue. Room for room this is the best value we found: a suite here often costs about half what a standard room runs at the others, and there is space to spread out. It asks a two-night minimum, and booking takes one extra step.

The venue

VESPER, 25 Kent Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11249, on the Williamsburg waterfront. Taxis and rideshare drop off at the entrance. If you are driving, there is a parking garage in the basement of the venue itself, and street parking around the neighborhood.

Flying in

LaGuardia is closest, roughly 20 to 30 minutes away. JFK and Newark are both around 45 minutes, depending on traffic. Rideshare is the simplest way into Williamsburg from any of the three.

One small thing worth a minute of your time: if you carry a travel rewards card, do compare rates through your card's own booking portal before using a code. Several came out lower than the codes, and some carried perks like a late checkout.

Having you with us in Brooklyn to celebrate is truly the greatest gift we could ask for. Because we have lived together in our apartment for a few years, we are fortunate to already have a home full of everything we need. A formal invitation will follow with all the details. In the meantime you are welcome to reply here, and we kindly ask that you do so by October 15, 2026.

Any of the four will serve you well. The William Vale sits closest to the venue, and it is where we will be staying, if you would like to be near us. Arlo and CODA are both lovely, and both an easy walk. The Box House is the clear value, with suites for roughly half what a standard room costs at the others, though it is the only one that will need a short car ride. Whichever you choose, do book early.

Yes, any time before October 15. Come back to this page on the same device and your reply will be waiting, filled in as you left it. Change whatever you like and send it again, and the new answer replaces the old one. If you reply from a different device, or you are not sure it went through, just fill it in again and we will take the most recent one. Replies are private: only the two of us can see them.

December in New York is properly cold. Expect the 30s to low 40s Fahrenheit come evening. The venue is warm and there is a coat check, so you need only dress for the walk in.

There is, and it is convenient: a 275-car garage in the basement of the venue itself, so you can park and take the lift up. Street parking around Williamsburg is possible too, though it varies by evening. Rideshare and taxis remain the easiest way in and out.
